Skating on Thin Ice

We took Zach ice skating for the first time today in the public rink in the center of town near Nationaltheateret. As soon as his skates were on (the smallest size they carry!) he was ready to jump right onto the ice expecting to know immediately how to skate and glide, but of course he looked more like Bambi learning to use his legs.

He fell and fell, took a break, and then fell some more... It was a lot of hard work, but after he hugged the rail for a very long while he was confident enough to try a few steps on his own and did very well.

Getting dressed (it was -8 C today!)
